What started 45 years ago in the Catholic orphanage outside of Chicago that I was raised in has turned into a profound journey for me about life, courage, disappointment, and redemption.

In 1999, I finally wrote my life story in my memoirs, “Did I ever thank you, Sister?” , to help put the pieces back together. I never intended on writing a book when I started out, I just wanted to write down what happened

Since I wrote my memoirs in 1999, publishers, screen writers, and even movie producers have pursued me about my story. However, I decided early on that I did not want my story told by anyone but my own voice. I self-published and continued to place my book in the hands of readers around the world via an internet web site. The results have been remarkable.

I have sold over a thousand books by word of mouth. What makes me go on are the many letters I receive from readers who tell me that what they appreciate the most is that I did not get a ghost writer or editor to clean it up. They know these are my words and that has made all the difference in their appreciation for my life and my journey.

Now, I am embarking on the final stage of telling my story. I will be heading to Hollywood to find a screen writer whom I can trust to tell my story, my way. I will be going back to the towns and cities where my life took place starting in Joliet, IL on to Omaha/Lincoln Nebraska, on to Baton Rouge, LA, to Minneapolis, New York City, and finally Los Angeles to recount my steps along the way in my life while on my way to my destination of Hollywood. I wonder how many ghosts I will see along the way?
